Theresa's family relocated from Ireland in the 1860's driven by the famine. Their move was life changing for themselves and their descendants.
I relocated to Australia in 1970 with my parents. They like many others before and after, we did so for personal and family reasons.
Those reasons have not changed. Please consider the reasons I share.

Theresa and I formed Able Medico in 2014 to provide medical licencing and migration services to overseas qualified specialists.
We started in Radiology and then expanded into other specialist areas.
Professional Reasons
No written or clinical exams
For Canadian Radiologists that hold RSPSC with a Specialist Certificate in Radiology and residency/training commenced on or after 1 July 2002 we can secure Specialist Registration in Australia with NO EXAMS required.
Canada is UNIQUE in that your training is the only one accepted as equivalent to the Australian RANZCR program.
For your first six months in Australia you practice under supervision. It is level 3 which means independent practice with a FRANZCR available by phone or in the same practice.
After six months application is made to AHPRA (medical registration) for removal of conditions and enables full specialist registration.
On securing full AHPRA specialist registration application can be made to the RANZCR College for Fellowship recognition.
Nuclear Medicine is not included in this new pathway and we would need to discuss the RACP College requirements. This does not necessarily include exams purely an assessment and peer review period.
Exceptional earnings potential
Imaging employers recognise the value of attracting Canadian Radiologists that have limited specialist registration with minimal supervision in the first 6 months and then full specialist registration.
Remuneration will range from $A300,000 to 600,000 per annum dependent on qualifications, experience, location and pre or post full specialist registration. That's typically Monday to Friday, 38hours per week, no on-call. Everything else is additional.
Many employers offer additional benefits in terms of Medical Indemnity Insurance, performance and location bonuses, relocation assistance and more.
Australia-wide practices
All overseas qualified Doctors are subject to "area of need" or "district workforce shortage"
locations. There are MANY practices in capital city locations that are available as well as regional centres.
Frankly, the location truly is up to your preference and we can provide guidance to suit.
In addition if your partner or spouse is a Doctor there are Spousal Exemptions to open any location for practice.
And if you hold a Nuclear Medicine* qualification in addition to Radiology this enables practice anywhere in Australia.
*Nuclear Medicine is not included in this new pathway and we would need to discuss the RACP College requirements. This does not necessarily include exams purely an assessment and peer review period.
Full medical licencing and migration support
Your new employer will engage Able Medico to take the lead role in medical licencing and migration. We collect content from you, draft the documents, you check, we then lodge and liaise with the relevant authority.
The application fees are paid by the employer, so too our professional fees.
We negotiate with Employers to bear the costs of visas and professional fees for the initial visa for yourself and family.
Full Specialist Registration
The AHPRA process commences with Limited Registration under supervision as a Specialist Radiologist for the first six months.
During this time there are formal performance reviews. Able Medico provides guidance, drafts documents, asks for your review and approval, makes the lodgements and liaises with AHPRA.
After six months application can be made to AHPRA (Able Medico assist) to secure full Specialist Registration.
Direct visa pathway to Permanent Residency
We use the 482 Temporary Resident Visa to commence for yourself and family members. This visas enables multiple entries to Australia and permits you and family members to work and study. It is the fastest visa to secure taking between 3 to 6 months to process.
That leads to the 186 Permanent Resident Visa which takes much longer to secure (12months). We can then apply for that on arrival in Australia.
And provided you have practiced for 4 years and held PR for 12 months we can then apply for Australian Citizenship.

And there's no snow nor ice UNLESS you visit Mt Buffalo in Winter or fly to New Zealand or Japan.
For the nature lovers we've got everything you can imagine. Beaches, forests, islands, deserts, rivers, vast lakes, so much to see. We've got the same land mass as Canada but more accessible albeit you'll need a 4WD for the more remote areas.
There are large cities if that's your preference and tiny country towns full of character.
There's lots of different sports (even ice hockey!), theatre, opera, galleries, shops, churches, you'll want for nothing.
Theresa and I love to hike, cycle and explore. We've seen a lot of the world (Canada also!) but have not completed our exploration of Australia.
