Keystone History
Our Commencement
In 2010 we formed an association of radiologists to tender for the Ballarat Health Services Radiology contract and were successful.
Since then, our service in Ballarat has grown significantly, which has allowed us to employ an additional 7 radiology specialists, 3 nuclear physicians and 2 senior registrars over the last 10 years. This in turn has enabled us to broaden our range of services, and expand our commitment to the communities that
we service.
In 2011 we established High St Xray, a large private outpatient imaging service in Bendigo. Our focus on “answering the clinical question” has been well received by the Bendigo medical community, and as a result our clinic was further expanded in 2014, doubling in size to meet increasing demand.
Our next stage of growth came in 2015 when our group was named the successful tenderer for the provision of radiology services to Goulburn Valley Health in Shepparton. In addition to provision of specialist radiologists, we now also operate a fully privatised nuclear medicine service at Goulburn Valley Health.
In 2016 we opened Sovereign Radiology, a comprehensive private outpatient clinic in Ballarat, offering residents in the region greater choice in providers and access to latest in medical imaging technology and techniques.
Continual Expansion
Since we opened Sovereign Radiology in 2016, the Keystone Group has continued to evolve and grow. We have been highly successful in recruiting doctors to our regional areas, so we now have highly skilled radiologists who are permanent residents in each of our local communities. These new appointments have resulted in a team of radiologists with training across the full range of radiology subspecialties.
During all this, we continue to be independently owned and have welcomed a new generation of radiologists as part of our ownership group.
As always, our focus is on satisfying the needs of our partner hospitals and providing outstanding services to regional Victorian communities.

Real community benefits due to excellent patient care, a comprehensive service offering, and our subspecialist expertise. Since 2010 we have continually expanded our service offering in these centres.
We now deliver:
- The full range of diagnostic radiology services, including MRI, nuclear medicine, including SPECT/CT.
- A full range of interventional radiology services (including those performed in the dedicated Cardiovascular suite in Ballarat).
- The highest level of diagnostic and interventional radiology services in regional Victoria.
